The Ode Street Tribune continues to violate fundamental journalistic tenets by using technical jargon without defining it. I am led to believe that the Trib's use of the technical term "breast area" in relation to trees is mere titillation.
The Fort Myer Heights North Plan, page 22, lists significant trees along with their "Diameter at Breast Height." Because the Ode Street Tribune favors vigorous, concise writing, it used the term "breast-area diameter". We regret any confusion or mis-impression that this term may have caused.
Because it's suggestive, vulgar, and many persons regard it as indecent-sounding, the term "titillation" has no place in pages of the Ode Street Tribune. You can count on the Tribune to be a wholesome neighbor news source for the whole family.
