A broken board with a rusted metal clasp is lying on the Rhodes St. Bridge. The broken board may be commemorating a historic bridge that once spanned Rt. 50 in Rosslyn. The broken board might have been part of a covered wagon heading from Rosslyn to Oregon via Rt. 50 and the Oregon Trail. The board may have been part of fortifications with which Rosslyn defended our nation's capital.

Part of the Wright Brothers plane that crashed at Ft. Myer.
I know for a fact that this remnant appeared during the winter's heavy snow. Perhaps it was a bit from a horse-drawn plow?
