Bikeshare Transit Development Plan nearing completion

Arlington's Capital Bikeshare is continuing its impressive community engagement with a Bikeshare Transit Development Plan.  This document will review the existing Capital Bikeshare (CaBi) system and set out a six-year plan for its development and operation.  Here are drafts of the plan's chapters and a summary overview.  Online comments on the proposed plan will be open from March 12 to April 13.  A general public meeting for comment and discussion about Arlington's CaBi plan will occur on Thursday, March 29, from 7-9pm at George Mason University.

Some milestones in public discussion of CaBi to date:

• Aug. 24, 2010: Capital Bikeshare launching in about a month
• Nov. 4, 2010: Rosslyn red-hot in bikeshare planning
• Jan. 11, 2011: Rosslyn moving forward with bikesharing
• Oct. 25, 2011: bikeshare station needed in Ft. Myer Heights neighborhood
• Feb. 7, 2012: new bikeshare station near Meade St. bridge
