locavore special this Wednesday at Santa Fe Café

Santa Fe Café, which features great locally sourced food, will donate 50% of all dinner sales this Wednesday evening to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC).  AFAC is a local non-profit that provides food to needy persons in the neighborhood.  Eat local at Santa Fe Café this Wednesday and help your less fortunate neighbors.

Santa Fe Café's specials this week, Tuesday through Saturday, include:
  • Lump Maryland Crab Flauta - Fresh Maryland lump crab (from the Chesapeake, really!) rolled in corn tortillas with seasoning and cheese, lightly fried, served over local mixed greens with tomatoes, corn fritters, red onions, tomato and black bean, local sweet corn, and jalapeno salsa
  • Local Swiss Chard Enchilada Platter - Lightly steamed chard (from a farm near Charlottesville) with grilled Vidalia onions in blue corn tortillas, baked with chipotle tomato sauce, locally made smoked mozzarella (from Blue Ridge Dairy of Sterling Va), black beans and pine-nut quinoa
  • Applewood Smoked Bacon and Green Chile Quesadilla - Locally smoked crisp, lean bacon (from Bucher’s Meat Market near Gettysburg, Pa.), layered with cheddar, Monterey jack and New Mexican green chiles in a grilled flour tortilla served with guacamole and sour cream
  • Flame Broiled Double Cut Pork Chop, served with fresh Eastern Shore peach habanero salsa, mashed sweet potatoes and grilled spinach
Local owner-master chef Kip Laramie regularly goes to the Rosslyn Farmers Market and the Courthouse Farmer's Market looking for high-quality local produce.  You can join him in a walk through the Courthouse Farmers Market in the video below.  Locavores can feel at home at Santa Fe Café!
