Westmoreland pedestrain overpass resurfaced

Following up on its repair to the steps of the Westmoreland pedestrain overpass, an Arlington County work crew has resurfaced the overpass.  The new surface is sand held in an adhesive.  This surface will make the overpass less slippery in wet weather.  Whether this surface will lessen ice buildup during winter remains to be seen.

The light in the middle of the overpasss remains broken. Cliff Garten, the artist designing luminous bodies for Rosslyn, rejected the idea of installing a luminous body in the middle of the Westmoreland overpass.  This rejection is unlikely to hurt Rosslyn's ranking among leading artistic centers in North America.
