goodwill to car drivers & concern for global warming must have limits

Helping drivers by reducing traffic on the road and lessening global warming, five bike commuters road to Rosslyn under treacherous conditions this morning.  There was only a half inch of snow.  But what you can't see can hurt you.  Underneath the snow right here was slick ice.  Fortunately, no cyclist seems to have gone down.  Cyclists' multi-modal charity toward car drivers and concern for the environment need not be taken to heroic extremes.
