for Rt. 50 bikepath, VDOT may need planning help

Construction of the Rt. 50 bikepath is progressing rapidly.  The new bikepath will help to accommodate the huddled masses yearning to breathe the excitement in Rosslyn.  Unfortunately, the connection to the Arlington Blvd off-ramp appears to be problematic.  A concrete wall on the right leaves little room for the new bikepath.  At the same time, moving the car lane to the left would run it into the oncoming traffic lane of the connecting street.
Making a good connection for the bike path and the inhumane-powered-vehicle lane looks like a serious urban planning challenge.  VDOT should consider calling upon the top Arlington planning talent now focusing on Rosslyn.
