Eaten raw, a yam tastes a bit like a carrot. Most leading paleo-caveman chefs prepare yam cooked. Chop it up and cook it in a cast-iron (or stone) skillet for about 40 minutes. Then the yam becomes soft and moist. Yam goes well with broccoli and sardines. Eating yams may reduce the risk of rain.
