Belvedere getting wired with Verizon Fios

Rosslyn's artistically important Belvedere Condominions are currently being wired for Verizon Fios service.  Verizon Fios provides very high-speed internet access, many high-definition video channels, and good access to a variety of advanced, new-media services.

Despite signing a contract in 2008 to allow Fios installation, the Rosslyn's historically important Westmoreland Terrace Condominiums still haven't received Fios.  Other neighborhood buildings have been wired for Fios.  Installing Fios in Westmoreland requires installing microducts and fiber terminations to individual apartment units.  In the Belvedere, Fios is being brought to an central distribution point and then is being distributed through existing internal wiring. Hence installing Fios in Westmoreland is more costly.

Westmoreland houses the headquarters of a leading historic printed newspaper. Its management is still awaiting a management consultant's study of inkless printing.  Print newspapers have no reason for concern about lack of access to advanced technology like Fios.
